UAE is home to a large variety of government as well as private colleges, universities and training institutes that provide accredited qualifications. A few of the government colleges and universities have admissions restricted to locals only but private institutions are open to all students meeting admission requirements. Students from around the world pursue higher education in UAE. The country is safe, has modern infrastructure, and provides a safe environment.

Being a centre of international commerce and headquarters to thousands of multinational companies, upon completion of studies students have the option of numerous job opportunities. Currently students from USA, Australia, India, Pakistan, Russia, France, Iran and Belgium are studying in the Emirates. In addition to pursuing degree courses, students can participate in certified short duration trainings, diplomas and courses lasting from a few days to several weeks. Short term studies cover a wide array of subjects. Some short course subject choices include Management Courses, Fashion Design courses conducted by industry specialists, Finance and Accounting, Airline, Airline & Hospitality Management courses.

Many colleges, universities and some training institutes provide help in getting visa for the students who have been admitted. The institutes usually attach an administrative expense for doing this, or they may add this charge to their tuition fees. In order to have the visa processed the candidate needs to provide their photographs,  and photocopy of the passport. In addition the candidates must have available copies of IELTS, GMAT and two letters of recommendations. If the candidate has worked, then a letter of experience should also be ready. Study visas can be valid for up to three years.
