South Sea Island, Fiji

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for our half-day trip to South Seas Island – perfect blue skies with a warm tropical breeze. Aboard the air-conditioned boat, it was a short 20 minute trip from Port Denarau to South Seas Island. As we arrived at the island, with it’s picture perfect white sand and coconut trees, we were greeted with music on the beach.

South Sea Island, FijiThere was more local entertainment as we sat down to enjoy the lunch that had been prepared for us. Fresh salads, barbecued meat and fish, fresh fruit and unlimited drinks were on offer. Plenty to satisfy everyone’s tastebuds, including our 3 and 5 year olds.

Plenty of activities were available for anyone to try; snorkling, kayaking, submarine boat (to view the reef and its wildlife without getting wet!) or just lazing on the beach in a hammock.

Our kids were happy to just swim in the pool on the island and build sand castles, while we parents relaxed for the afternoon.

We found the half day trip was the perfect amount of time for us, and was great for the children we had with us. This was my second trip to South Seas Island, and I’d happily do it again.
