If you have a serious case of wanderlust you may find yourself planning your next journey before you even leave your current destination. You may be someone who has simply made the decision to live a travel based lifestyle and if so, you are in the right place.

The notion of being able to travel while still having the ability to earn college credits, to work, or to volunteer for a cause that you truly believe in is amazing. Here are just a few ways you can satisfy your wandering soul.

Study Abroad Programs

If you are a college student most colleges and universities offer study abroad programs where you can attend a semester or a trimester overseas while earning college credit towards your degree. Studying abroad is a great way to completely immerse yourself in another country’s culture. Depending on your university or college’s guidelines and program requirements you could be spending 6 months abroad, a year, over even more.

The benefits of studying abroad are many and include learning a new language, being able to explore a new city, a new culture, and learn about the people that live there. Benefits that can be learned outside the classroom as well as inside the classroom.

Destination Work Abroad

If you are past your college or university days, there are still options for you if you want to get some of that wanderlust out of your system. Mrhudsonexplores.com is a great place to start your search if you need some destination inspiration.

You may want to travel throughout Europe, or an exotic location in the Far East or South America.  Perhaps you want to work abroad seasonally. There are many different types of work available depending on which area you wish to travel to.

If you are interested in working in tourism and hospitality, starting out your search for jobs in this industry well before the start of high season is a great way to find opportunities at hotels, touring companies, and more.

Volunteer & Give Back

There are so many organizations that need volunteers all over the world.

If this is the way that you choose to see the world be prepared to see and experience some things that may not be easy to deal with. There are many challenges facing many different groups of people all over the world.

The upside to this is that you can feel that you are making a positive change in the world around you by volunteering your time and your efforts to those less fortunate than you.

A few things to consider before selecting a destination and volunteer organization.

You should ensure that you have done your research regarding the country that you choose to travel to, the organization that you chose to volunteer for, and what the living conditions are for the duration of your time there. You will also want to ensure that you have the proper working permits and residency permissions for country of your choice.

Regardless of how you choose to see the world, getting out there and seeing it worth it!
