There are numerous reasons why one should study in Hungary. First of all Hungary has a long history of higher education. The first university was founded over 600 years ago. More than 10,000 international students representing 52 countries have studied in Hungarian universities in the last two decades. Finally, language is not an issue; International programs have been conducted in English and German since 1983.
Studying in Hungary is especially appealing because the tuition fees are lower than those of similar programs offered by the North American universities. The cost of living is also comparably lower. Medical degrees like Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, and Veterinary Science are recognized by the WHO and readily accepted by the European Union. Many of the professors are alumni or have been educated at well-regarded schools like Harvard, Oxford, MIT or Cambridge.
To be admitted to an undergraduate program in a Hungarian university, one must complete upper secondary education from a recognized institution of their home country. IELTS or TOEFL are not required for admission to a Hungarian university. If you come from a EU or EEA country, and your study related stay in Hungary is three months or less then there is no need for a visa. If you come from anywhere else then a study visa is required. Getting a study visa is not difficult. All you have to do is provide documentation proving payment of tuition fees and a letter of admission from the university you plan to attend. Once these items are provided, getting a study visa is a matter of routine.
