4 Ways to Make the Most of Your Orlando Vacation

Home » Blog » 4 Ways to Make the Most of Your Orlando Vacation

August 1, 2017 //  by theinternationalwanderer//  Leave a Comment

Orlando offers no shortage of things to keep tourists, and locals, occupied 365 days a year.

Orlando is one of the only places where you can watch live-alligator feedings in the morning, catch a riotous soccer game in the afternoon and close out the evening with a rocking live-concert. With that in mind, here are some tips to keep you moving in the City Beautiful that’ll make your next Florida vacation a trip to remember.

Seek out local entertainment

When it comes to diverse food, drink and entertainment options, Orlando is on par with some of the biggest cities in the country. Emeril’s Orlando offers fine dining with a flair for unique creole cuisine. Vibrant live-music options like the Social and Tanqueray’s bring a welcome change-of-pace from tired music venues back home. For the best cocktail in town head to Hanson’s Shoe Repair. This unique 1920’s-themed speakeasy even requires a password for entry.

Visit a theme-park

There are dozens of properties to choose from when it comes to theme-parks options in the Central Florida area. From the thrilling adventures to be had at Universal’s Islands of Adventure to the magic of undersea exploration at SeaWorld Orlando there is no shortage of fun to explore. Don’t forget to check out the new World of Avatar Pandora experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom – it’s out of this world.

Take in a sporting event

The City Beautiful is home to some of the most reputable sports teams this side of the Mississippi. If you’re a fan of playing ball then score some tickets to an Orlando Magic basketball game and watch head coach Frank Vogel lead his team to yet another victory. If basketball isn’t your thing head over to the Orlando City Stadium to watch Florida’s first-ever official MLS soccer team Orlando City SC in action!

Get back to nature

Being surrounded by water on three of its four sides you would think all there is to see in Florida are beaches but you’d be very wrong. Florida is host to dozens of nature preserves and wildlife conservation sites who work tirelessly to educate the public on environmental care and proper handling techniques of native species. From the excitement of seeing alligators in the flesh at Gatorland to the tranquil oasis Leu Gardens offers its visitors, Orlando has something to satisfy even the most die-hard nature-enthusiast.

Whether you’re traveling alone, with a family or with that special someone, Orlando offers truly unique experiences that make it one of the best places to visit. From vibrant music scenes to local sporting events, there is something for everyone on your list.

What are your favorite hotspots to check out when visiting Orlando?

Don’t forget, when planning an Orlando vacation, your choice of hotel is one of the most important decisions you can make. For a truly elevated stay experience, check out the deals that Westgate Resorts offers to travelers, including access to pools, golf courses and more.

Katie Parsons is a communications specialist for Westgate Resorts. She travels often with her family of 7 and writes about it on her blog Mumbling Mommy.
