Be Prepared:

– When you make your reservation, be sure to let the hotel know you will be bringing a pet.

– Make sure your pet’s vaccinations are up to date and bring your pet’s health certificate with you to the hotel.  They may ask for it.

– Be sure to pack enough food for the number of days you’ll be away.  Even if the hotel says it supplies pet food, your pet may prefer the food he’s used to.

– When you arrive, find out from the hotel concierge where the nearest green space is for your pet to relieve himself.

– Bring your pet’s favorite toy or blanket with you, so he settles into the new location more easily.  And give him lots of affection.

– Be sure to bring your pet’s leash.  Even pet-friendly hotels will require that your pet be on a leash whenever you are in public spaces.

– If your pet makes a mess in the room, always clean it up as soon as possible.

– Your pet should always wear a collar with an ID tag on it, just in case he gets loose.

There are so many more pet-friendly hotels that I didn’t list.  If you’ve stayed at a hotel with your pet that gave your loved one outstanding service, please let Mia know!
