Studying in Brunei

Brunei is home to a large number of tertiary level institutes offering a high standard of education. Initially students form ASEAN countries made up most of the foreign student population in Brunei. However, with diversity in the variety of courses today a large number of students from China, Japan, Europe and Africa are coming to study in Brunei. This is partly due to the fact that courses taught in English are common, and it is also spoken widely elsewhere. With English language skills, getting around the country is not a problem.

An extensive range of short courses in Brunei catering the needs of professionals wishing to upgrade their skills, international students taking gap years and adventure seekers are offered, in addition to language, and computer skills courses. Courses starting at the most basic levels and up to advanced levels are available. Many institutes are willing to build courses around the needs of corporations wishing to upgrade the skills of their upper management.

Brunei visas for international students visiting the country for short courses are fairly easy to obtain using the online application forms. Generally a passport valid for six months after the date of departure is needed. Single and multiple entry visas are valid for up to three months and visitors are required to have sufficient funds to support themselves for the duration of the stay.
